Grab the paint brushes
A good paint job will change the look and feel of any property. It doesn’t break the bank and it’s a great way to get that upgrade feel to your home. We recommend using neutral colours, like whites and beiges, when painting the inside of your home unless you are setting a specific tone for a specific look. Be sure to paint the ceiling, doors and skirting for that all round new look and don’t forget to properly tape and cover furniture. If you don’t have time to do the whole house then do one room at a time.
Add Storage to your entry
If a traditional entry closet or a beautiful built-in shelving system is not an option in your home, refashioned furniture can achieve a look that’s equally stylish and storage-savvy. A small table is a perfect size for beside the front door. Though compact, a shelf can make it feel more functional for a drop-zone of your items. You can even add a wall-mount shelf above the table that hangs your keys within easy reach.
Make the entrance more inviting
Dress the door with new hardware, and add a welcome mat and potted plants near the entrance, consider installing outdoor lighting to enhance your home’s architecture and illuminate the walkway. It can do wonders for the home’s curb appeal and make a lasting impression on guests.
Redo the kitchen back splash
For a reasonable cost you can easily transform the mood and look of the kitchen with a bold new back splash in ceramic or glass tile. Just make sure the wall is sound before you start the installation.
Landscape the outside space
Those scraggly bushes and patchy, weedy grass could be one of the reasons your home looks a bit sad. An unkempt and neglected yard can be a major turn off and is a waste of great usable space. If you have grass, make sure you take proper care and water and trim it regularly even set up an irrigation system to save some time. If you don’t have the time or resources for a full landscaping re-do, place some potted plants or even lay some artificial grass. For a small cost it will make a big difference.
